The Challenge: High-Efficiency Drawing of High Carbon Steel
Our Indian client required a reliable, high-performance wire drawing production line capable of processing high carbon steel from 5.6mm down to 2.0mm at an impressive drawing speed of 1080 m/min. With a strict requirement for 415V, 50Hz voltage, they also demanded a compact layout that could fit into their existing factory space without compromising production efficiency.
Our Solution: A Fully Integrated Space-Saving Production Line
To meet their high-volume and space-saving requirements, we engineered and shipped a complete, customized wire drawing line across 3 full containers:
Pay-off Stand + Descaling Machine (Integrated Type): By integrating the pay-off and descaling units, we significantly reduced the footprint of the production line, eliminating unnecessary floor space occupation.
Drawing Machines: A robust combination of LZ1/600 + LZ7/560 (8 dies in total) was supplied to handle the high tensile strength of carbon steel with precision.
Built-in Tension Machine: The drawing line was equipped with a built-in tension machine, specifically designed to both minimize production space and provide superior tension control, ensuring perfectly consistent wire quality throughout the drawing process.
SG560 Spool Take-up: The line ends with the reliable SG560 spool take-up machine, ensuring neatly wound finished wire ready for the next production stage.

For this specific project, the customer required the first drawing machine to be equipped with a 600mm capstan. Technically, however, we strongly recommend using the 600mm capstan for wire rods larger than 8mm. This is because thicker wire requires greater drawing force; using a smaller capstan for large diameter wires increases the risk of wire slippage and makes operation much more difficult.
Despite our recommendation, we fully respected the customer’s specific production requirements and custom-built the line with the 600mm capstan on the first unit as requested. Our goal is not just to sell machines, but to provide the most adaptable solutions for our partners.
